Steps to an Independent Adoption

1. If interested in adoption, complete and submit form with your information and wishes.
2. Posting will be reviewed and if accepted message will be posted.
3. Receive email from adopting parents about themselves.
4. Visit their site, speak on the phone, learn more about adoption.
5. Carefully make one choice of who you want to parent your child.
6. If agreed by both parties, you have a "match."
7. Complete Birthmother Questionnaire with family history, Understanding of Adoption, arrange for doctor to directly fax Proof of Pregnancy to adopting parents.
8. Meet with adopting parents and their attorney for legal understanding.
9. Agree to pre & post-adoption counseling, often required by law.
10. Relinquish baby at time of birth.
11. Birthmother and adopting parents fulfill adoption as agreed.
