A Child's Waiting is working with a BM due 4/4/08 with an aa/hispanic male she is located in Ohio She has 4 other children. They are all allergic to milk. Her son has a few seizures but he outgrew them. Two of her other children have asthma. She is placing for lack of resources. She recently started prenatal care. She has had some preterm labor which they stopped. They have given her a steroid shot to help with lung development. She reports smoking 1-2 cigarettes a day through the 5th month. She also reports smoking marijuana throughout the pregnancy thus far. Upon admittance to the hospital for the preterm labor, she did test positive to cocaine. She reports not using cocaine but did share that maybe the marijuana was laced with it. Latosha has decided to take charge of her drug issues and is scheduled to go into rehab next week. She is trying to get her life in order. She has made application to Medicaid. We don't determine her eligibility. She reports she had domestic violence committed against her during the 1st trimester. Everything is fine she has been diagnosed with PTSD from the incident. She has had situational depression/bipolar in the past. She does not need medication. Her mother suffered from bipolar and diabetes. She is open to all family dynamics. She just wants a loving financially stable family for her child. African American baby GIRL due March 16th in Utah. Expectant mom is 24 yrs old, African American, 5’7”, brown hair, brown eyes, medium complexion and 125 pre-pregnancy weight. She is parenting 2 small children (boy,girl) and does not feel she is ready to parent another child. She has been receiving prenatal care. A sonogram noted the gender appears to be a girl. African American baby BOY due March 16th in Utah. Expectant mom is 22 yrs old, African American, brown hair and brown eyes. She has been experiencing contractions since the beginning of Jan. The DR has been administering shots to help the babies lungs develop should she deliver earlier. She does not have any other signs of labor. She will be monitored. She has applied for Medicaid in Utah. She denies the use of drugs or alcohol with this pregnancy. She notes she did smoke for the first few months of pregnancy until finding out she was pregnant then she stopped. There are no mental concerns noted with her or her family. She has been incarcerated during her pregnancy. She has 2 other children that she is not parenting. The expectant father is known. They had a brief relationship which ended while the expectant mom was incarcerated. He is described as 45 yrs old, African American, brown hair and dark eyes. He has not provided any support nor have they had any contact since she has been released from jail. The expectant mom is looking for a Married Traditional family or a Single Parent. If a married family, she wants one parent to have a college education and If a Single parent, she wants them to have a college education. She prefers a family with no biological children but they can have adopted children. She will consider all races and she would prefer that the family be Christian. The expectant mom has taken herself off of her medication since finding out she was pregnant because she wants to make sure the child has the best possible start at development to be a healthy baby. The expectant mom does not know where he is or have a complete name for him. The expectant mom would like a Married Traditional family, with 1 or 2 children but is open to consider families with no children. I am posting this case for a licensed agency. They have a Caucasian baby that will be born 1/2/08. The birth parents will only consider a traditional family living on the west coast and comfortable with an open adoption including visits. Their preference is that the adoptive parents be raising a child already. The annual visit is not negotiable. The birth mom is getting prenatal care and has Medicaid. She has indicated no drugs/alcohol. The birth parents are together and both will consent to the adoption. You must be home study approved and ready to travel immediately if chosen.
