Morning Star Adoption Center has been asked to assist a single, 32 year old, expectant African American woman with the adoption planning for her child (gender unknown) who is due to be born on or about May 26, 2008. She has a four-year-old son and is not financially able to support another child. She has obtained her GED. She has not been receiving regular prenatal care until recently. She is on Medicaid. There are no drugs or alcohol involved. She is a non-smoker. Birth Father is African American as well and has moved out of state. We will attempt to contact him at a last know address, if it can be obtained. He is not the father of her other son. She is looking for a couple that is financially stable. She prefers a Black couple, but is open to any race family (with or without other children). She is not open to same sex couples. She would like to meet the couple or at least talk to them by phone (if they live out of the state of Michigan). She does not feel she wants continued contact through pictures and letters. She will only consider families that are home study approved for this description of child. She will want to meet the family. Total fees for a MI adoption (family can be from any state and finalize in MI) would be approximately $11,000.00, excluding travel, the home study, and 2 supervision visits. She has two other sons, ages 2 and 1, and is not financially able to support another child. She has graduated high school. She has not been receiving regular prenatal care until recently. She is on Medicaid. There are no drugs or alcohol involved. She is a non-smoker. Birth Father is African American as well and his residence is unknown. He is not the father of her other sons. She is looking for a childless couple that is financially stable. Her first choice is a Black couple and her second choice is a childless Inter-racial couple (with the mother being Black). She is not open to same sex couples. She would like to meet the couple or at least talk to them by phone (if they live out of the state of Michigan). She does not feel she wants continued contact through pictures and letters. She will only consider families that are home study approved for this description of child. At some point, she will want to meet the family. Morning Star Adoption Center, a Michigan agency, is seeking African American parents for an African American child due September 12, 2008. It is a girl. Birth mother is 21 years old and has a two year old daughter. She is seeking a family close to the Detroit area, so that they can be involved with doctors appointments during her pregnancy. After placement, she would like to receive letters and pictures. She is open to any faith family. She is NOT open to same gender couples or a single parent. She would consider an inter-racial couple. Birth mother is healthy. She does not smoke, she had 1-2 drinks before her second month of pregnancy, but is no longer having any alcohol and she does not use illegal drugs. Her first child (born approx. 3 years ago) died of SIDS at the age of 8 weeks, 3 days. Birth father is 25 years old and has 4 or 5 other children. He does not support those children and has a criminal background. He is not likely to take any interest in this child, which will result in the termination of his parental rights. He is healthy. There are not any significant health issues in either family. Total anticipated cost of this adoption, which can be completed in Michigan, would be approximately $11,000.00, plus travel and two supervision visits. Birth mother has not requested any living expense assistance, but this figure includes the possibility for a small amount of help, if it became necessary. Morning Star Adoption Center is seeking a family for an African American baby boy, due April 27. Birth mother is 16 years old and not prepared to parent. She lives with her father and he supports the adoption plan. She is seeking a married couple (no same gender families), any race, Christian, prefers a family in Michigan, and would like letters, pictures, phone calls, and possibly visits after placement. She is healthy, but obtains special education classes for speech and language impairments. She states only 1 possible birth father, which is her half-brother (same mother). He is 28 years old, married and cannot be located. His parental rights can be terminated if he is not located. He is believed to be healthy. Birth mother's mother has Lupus, cancer, diabetes (she's overweight) and deep vein thrombosis. She is currently living in SC. Total fees are approximately $9,500.00 (for a MI adoption), excluding travel, home study, and 2 supervision visits. Michigan can complete a legal adoption with families from any state, since birth mother is here. Morning Star Adoption Center is seeking a family for a 3 month old African American girl. Mother does not feel financially able to care for her. Mother has 4 other sons. She is 39 years old. Father is also 39, lives in FL, and is likely to be agreeable to the adoption. Child is healthy, but may carry the sickle cell trait. Father had the trait and child was tested, but mother has not obtained the results. Records will be requested to obtain the results. Birth family is healthy. No smoking, drugs, alcohol, or prescriptions meds during the pregnancy. Child was full term. Mother is seeking a couple or single person, preferably at least one AA parent. She is open to same gender couples. She would like a vegetarian family, that will not vaccinate their children. She is open to any faith family. she would like the ability to have an open adoption. She would like a family who has no children. There is no history of Drug, Alcohol, or smoking. The birth mom's mother was diagnosed with schizophrenia after witnessing her husband being murdered. No prior diagnosis before the incident. BF is undisclosed. The fees are 16K. She is a very sweet girl and wants a loving family for her child.
